World Amateur Radio Day is an amateur radio activity worldwide. On April 18th, millions of amateur radio operators convene via airwaves to celebrate International Amateur Radio Day by providing demonstrations and discussions about amateur radio.

Most of the topics dealt with are the operating capabilities of stations, discussion of different amateur radio interests, and public service roles. Ham radio operators' significance is by providing communication from simple friendship conversations to natural disasters using its infrastructure independent of the cell phone network. Ham radio's separate structure is critical during a disaster when regular communication channels fail.
